STATUS is a community striving to become the kingdom of Heaven on earth. We are the people you see everyday and desire to be a part of culture carrying a message of faith, hope and love.
Sundays at 6:30pm and 8:30pm we meet together in the auditorium of Discovery Church and the other six days of the week there are various expressions of who we are in houses, offices, bars, coffee shops, galleries and just about everywhere else you can imagine in the Central Florida area.
We hold tightly to the teachings of Jesus as recorded by the apostles who penned the gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Worship Gatherings
Sunday Nights at 6:30 and 8:30 PM
The Greenhouse (our learning environment for kids) takes place during the 6:30 gathering.
Most often, going to a church service is like going to the movies – sit, watch and consume. But our value of contribution extends into our worship gatherings. That means that most often our gatherings are about going beyond hearing and actually doing. Jesus used metaphor and activity all the time to communicate spiritual principles. So, whether we’re engaging in something traditional like communion or something a little bit different like physically planting a seed as a symbol of our spiritual growth, our gatherings are participative.
The end goal is John 4:23 – that we would be people who are simply and honestly ourselves before God in our worship. No show here. Just honesty.
Small Groups
At the core of our community is the desire to see all engaged in relationships that are continually transforming all involved into a closer likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. Rooted deeply in each person is a desire to be known and to know others and this comes from being created in the image of a God who, in Himself, shares three distinct Persons in one essence. At STATUS, we hope to empower to you to create opportunities to gather with your friends and meet new ones through regular small group activity. In these environments, the goal is to form new relationships or strengthen existing ones. This happens in many ways, including the study of scripture, reading books together, engaging in local and global service and hosting potluck style meals.
Our hope is that you would desire to begin walking alongside your brothers and sisters in the continual process and journey that is following Jesus. We empower you to create two different types of small group communities: Spheres and Praxis Communities.
