Prayer tonight

Haiti

I’m sure you’ve read or heard. 100,000+ estimated deaths; no electricity or water; no infrastructure to even distribute relief. Supplies are literally backed up at the one tiny airport there, because there are no trucks or roads to move them!

First of all, don’t wait for this event. Pray now. Take 5 minutes to pray for those stuck and afraid under the buildings, for the thirsty, for the kids, for the very few rescue teams.

Second, let’s not be so overwhelmed by the immensity of the destruction that we ignore it because it’s too much to handle. Instead let’s plead with the God of redemption and reconstruction for his mercy on this situation. Let’s petition him to save, rescue, and bring hope to the trapped and afraid, the thirsty and hungry, and even the ones doing the rescuing.

Let’s not be afraid to acknowledge him as Lord even as our hearts ache with questions of why such a terrible thing should happen.

So come and pray. Hope you can make it tonight. 7p in room 108 at the church.
