Hey students.

My name is Cole.  I’m one of the pastors of Status.  This section of the site is a bit different in that it’s in first person, written directly to you.  I’m doing this because I feel like the best way for you to know how we feel about you is through a story.

When I was 16, I was really involved in the student ministry at the church I was part of growing up.  I led worship there and saw God do so much.  It was (and still is) a great place.  I knew that the things God was doing in our student ministry could have great effects on the rest of the church. But since we were young, our voices seemed unimportant and the mighty things God was doing in us just stayed in our student building on the outskirts of the church property.

As Status, we want to change that mindset. We believe that, if you’re in relationship with Jesus, the Holy Spirit is working in you.  We believe that you have the ability to join in with the creativity of God and contribute to our body as a whole.  I know how amazing it is to spend time with friends your own age, but we believe you’re meant for something bigger than that. So, we invite you to contribute to our community by participating alongside of people of all ages.  You have things to teach 4 year olds, but you also have things to teach 54 year olds.  And you have things to learn from them as well.  So, volunteer in the Greenhouse.  Join a house church.  Serve our community with us. And participate in Sunday nights.  I pray that you will find a place in our family – a place to give and receive.
